Tengu school of Taiko offers a professional and enjoyable workshop experience for both primary and secondary schools. Pupils get to try out something very different from other music lessons as well as learning a bit about Japanese culture and history. It's great to get the pupils involved in Taiko drumming for cultural days, International language days, Japan days, music lessons with a difference or just to get the class working together as a team. Classes can even showcase the piece they learn, to parents or the rest of the school. We find that the pupils get really involved in the drumming. They enjoy the workshops and leave with a sense of achievement. School workshop bookings can be geared to your needs, from a single workshop to a few throughout the school day. The choice is yours. Please contact email@example.com to discuss your requirements. DBS and insurance certificates available on request.
EXTRA CURRICULAR CLASSES Regular extra curricular classes are great for building a school Taiko group, and they can perform at different school events like school concerts, summer fayres, special assemblies etc.

'Thank you so much for this experience. It was so much fun and we all enjoyed it. It really was something to remember!' - Year 10 pupils at Fulford school, York.
'A superb programme for the day. The students were inspired by the drumming, especially the hands on elements. A blend of language and culture showed the students the relevance of the drumming and it's place in Japanese society. The drummers' performances were both energetic and visually pleasing. I would not hesitate to recommend the Taiko drummers to other schools.' - Year 10 teacher at Fulford school, York.
'We would love to use the group again for other international days.' - Millthorpe school staff, York (years 7 + 8)
'Thank you very much for coming into our school today. The drumming was the most fun lesson and was very educational and interesting. I enjoyed myself and learnt alot.'
'I really enjoyed the experience and hope we do it again.'
'Thank you for such a fun Japanese drumming session, we had lots of fun and it was the best part of the day. We learnt a lot and can remember the terms used to keep the beat in a piece. The whole session made Japanese seem intriguing, and we did not realise what traditional Japanese drumming was really like, so it was fun to experience a different countries culture.' - Language students in Apollo house.
