I am happy to be able to add a new online tutorial feature to the website. This has come about due to the recent Coronavirus pandemic which has resulted in having to indefinitely postpone all classes and workshops for adults, and in schools. So I have been working hard filming and editing new tutorials for drills and repertoire, which will be available here on an ongoing basis.
There will be both free and paid for tutorials available. If you like the the free tutorials and would like to help towards the creation of these, donations would be gratefully accepted. All paid tutorials will require you to have a free Youtube account and can be paid for via PayPal or all major debit / credit cards, using the buy now buttons, and will come with additional learning resources. Once you have bought a tutorial (or series of), you will be emailed links to the video's and resources, and access will be unlimited. Enjoy!
You don't even have to own a drum! There are lots of great ways to do the drumming, even if you haven't got a drum, or if you don't want to annoy the neighbours ...... too much! Easy alternatives can be used, such as a cushion, upturned bucket or old style black bin, and a couple of wooden spoons or cut down broom handles for sticks. There are also practice drum pads like the one in the image below, available online or via ebay. If you're feeling creative though, here's a video on how to make your own practice Taiko drum from an old tyre and some packing tape.
